ROCK CANDY 
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. white syrup
1 3/4 c. white sugar
Dash of salt
1/4 tsp. flavoring to your choice

Combine water, sugar, syrup and salt. Heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Bring to a rolling boil, remove lid and boil until 250 degrees. Add food coloring, continue to boil until 300 degrees. Remove and cool for a few minutes. Add flavoring, stir, cover and cool for 5 minutes. Pour into a greased 7"x10" pan. Let cool until warm enough to cut with shears. Cut into pieces and shake with powdered sugar to keep from sticking.
