CINNAMON DOUGHNUTS 
2 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
2 well beaten eggs
3/4 c. milk
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
5 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Cream shortening. Add sugar and eggs. Mix well. Add milk, flour sifted with salt, baking powder and spices. Roll on lightly floured surface 3/4 inch thick. Cut with floured doughnut cutter. Let stand 15 minutes. Fry in deep hot fat until brown turning once. Drain on paper towel. Shake in paper sack of sugar and cinnamon. (A soft dough is easier to roll when chilled.)
