MAANDAZI (East African Doughnut) | |
1 1/4 c. flour 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. ground cardamon Pinch of salt 1 egg 1/4 c. milk Oil for frying Mix together the dry ingredients. Mix in egg and milk until well blended. Roll out as for a jelly roll to about 3/4 inch thickness. Cut using a doughnut cutter with center ring removed. Fry in hot (365 degree) oil until golden brown. May roll in confectioners' sugar before serving. |
