COOKIE'S POUND CAKE 
2 sticks soft butter
1 stick soft butter
3 c. sugar
3 1/2 c. cake flour
5 lg. eggs at room temperature
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. vanilla
Pinch salt

Beat shortening until creamy add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add half the flour, alternately with half the milk; then beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat in remaining ingredients, alternating dry and liquid. Grease and flour tube or bundt pan, pour in batter. Start in cold oven, at 325 degrees, bake 1 hour 20 minutes or until tester comes out clean. Cool in pan 20 minutes.
