2 tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. corn syrup
2 squares chocolate
7 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp. butter
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients except vanilla in a heavy saucepan. Place over low heat and allow to come to a rolling boil. Boil exactly 1 minute. Cool mixture to room temperature before beating. Add vanilla and beat until smooth and the right consistency to spread on cake.
