SPECIAL PECAN CUSTARD PIE 
1/2 c. pecan halves
1/2 c. chopped pecans
3 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. maple flavor
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. dark corn syrup
1/2 c. cream or half and half

Cream butter, vanilla, maple and sugar together. Add eggs and beat until fluffy. Add corn syrup and chopped pecans and cream and blend well. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes then put pecan halves on top and bake 45 minutes longer at 350.
