BEANS AND RICE CREOLE | |
4 slices bacon 1/2 c. chopped onion 1/2 c. chopped green pepper 1 clove garlic, minced 1 (16 oz.) can Van Camp's pork and beans 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1/4 tsp. oregano Dash of ground red pepper 2 c. hot cooked rice Fry bacon until crisp; crumble and set aside. Reserve 2 tablespoons drippings in pan; saute onion, green pepper and garlic in drippings until tender. Add bacon and remaining ingredients except rice; simmer 10 minutes or until slightly thickened. Serve over hot rice. 4 (3/4 cup) servings. |
