3 c. raw peanuts
3 c. sugar
1 c. white corn syrup
1 c. water
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Red food coloring, optional

Cook peanuts, sugar, corn syrup and water over medium heat, to hard ball stage. Remove from heat, add butter, vanilla and a few drops food coloring. As soon as candy is cool enough to handle, beat until creamy. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. If candy gets too firm while pouring beat in 1/2 teaspoon warm water. You may let candy get too thin. Makes a big batch.
