RED CABBAGE WITH APPLES 
1 med. head red cabbage
2 red cooking apples
1 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. vinegar
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. cold water

Shred cabbage and slice apples (do not peel). Combine all ingredients except flour in large skillet; add water. Cover and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until cabbage is tender but still crisp. Sprinkle flour over cabbage and continue cooking and stirring until thick. Serves 4 to 6.
