BREAD PUDDING 
1 c. sugar
8 tbsp. softened butter
5 eggs, beaten
1 pt. cream or Pet milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. rum
1/2 c. raisins
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
12 slices bread, whole

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, Pet milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, rum and raisins; mix well. Pour in 9" square pan 1 3/4" deep. Arrange bread slices flat in pan and let stand to absorb some of the liquid. Be sure the bread is covered with the mixture. Do not bread the bread. Set pan in a larger pan with water 1/2" from top. Cover with foil. Bake 45 minutes, uncovering for last 10 minutes. Remove from oven and pour 1 cup melted sugar mixed with 1 cup rum.
