“ETHEL'S COOKIES” IS IN:

ETHEL'S COOKIES 
3/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 cups chopped walnuts or pecans

Sift together the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Set aside.

In a separate mixing bowl, cream together the margarine and both sugars.

Add the egg, vanilla, and nuts to the butter and sugar.

Add dry ingredients to the wet.

Mold the dough into two rolls and cover in wax paper. Place in the refrigerator.

When firm, cut dough into 1/4-inch slices.

Bake at 325°F for 8 to 10 minutes
