CONNIE'S CHILI ROLLS 
18 soft French or sour dough rolls
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
1 (4 oz.) can green chili sauce
1 1/2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
3/4 lbs. Cheddar cheese
Salt, black pepper, chili powder to taste

Cut slit in side of each roll (do not cut all the way through). Scoop out insides. Set aside. Brown beef, onion, and garlic in skillet. Add chili sauce, tomato sauce, salt, pepper and chili powder. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring often. Cut cheese into chunks. Stir into meat mixture, heat until almost melted. Fill rolls with chili mixture. Wrap each in foil. Heat at 300 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with tossed green salad.
