1 1/2 c. raisins
1 c. water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. oatmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
nut meats
2 to 3 c. flour

Boil raisins and water about 5 minutes. Add soda and let cool. Cream sugars and shortening. Add eggs. Beat well. Add the cooled raisin mixture, oatmeal, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, nut meats and flour. Mix well.

Bake in 350°F oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
