2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk
6 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar and cocoa. Add shortening and milk. Boil several minutes to soft ball stage. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and beat immediately until thick enough to spread.
