3 c. granulated sugar
1 c. white Karo syrup
1 c. water
3 egg whites

Cook sugar, Karo and water until it forms soft ball in water then pour off 1 cup. Boil the rest until it becomes brittle in water, add the cup which was poured off to the beaten egg whites, then add rest and beat until it will drop from spoon and stand in peaks, flavor with peppermint or vanilla and add 1 cup nut meats and 1 cup crystalized cherries.
