CHEESE STRAWS 
1 c. all purpose flour
1 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 c. butter
1 egg, beaten

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix together the flour, cheese, salt, and cayenne. Cut in the butter with pastry blender or two forks until the mixture looks like cornmeal. Add the beaten egg and stir, knead until you can form a ball. If dough seems dry, add a few drops of water. Place on floured board and roll thin. Cut in finger size strips and place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 5-8 minutes or until lightly brown. Makes 15-20.
