OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1 c. oatmeal
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 3/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 stick butter
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. cocoa
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
3/4 c. walnuts

Pour water over oatmeal in mixing bowl; let set for 10 minutes. Add sugars and butter, and stir. Add eggs and flour, then all other dry ingredients. Add 6 ounces chocolate chips. Stir. Pour in greased 13 x 9-inch pan; top with rest of chips and chopped nuts. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Top with whipped topping rather than frosting. Very moist!!
