OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE 
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. uncooked, 1 minute rolled oats
1 c. lightly packed brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 stick butter
2 lg. eggs
1 3/4 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 pkg. chocolate chips (12 oz.)
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Pour boiling water over oats and let stand 10 minutes. Add sugars and butter and stir well. Add eggs, mix well.

Sift together flour, soda, salt and cocoa and add to sugar mixture. Mix well. Add half of chocolate chips. Mix well and pour in greased and floured 9x13 pan.

Sprinkle remaining chips and nuts on top. Bake in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes. (This cake makes its own topping and needs no frosting.)
