MAGGIE'S GERMAN POTATO SALAD | |
1 cup prepared olive oil and vinaigrette dressing 1/2 cup cider vinegar 1/4 cup simple syrup (to taste)* 1 1/2 pouches real bacon bits 1 tsp. smoked flavoring 1/2 tsp. ground pepper dash of salt 2 bags frozen shredded hash brown potatoes (country style) 1 cup pre-diced assorted peppers 1 cup diced red onions 1 pkg. pre-cooked bacon slices Combine dressing, cider vinegar, simple syrup, bacon bits, smoked flavoring, pepper, salt. Set aside. In a Crock-Pot add hash brown potatoes, diced peppers, diced red onions, and cut pre-cooked bacon into 1/2-inch pieces. Pour liquid mixture over items in Crock-Pot, and set on low. Stir occasionally. Serve when fully hot. Note: To make a "simple syrup" use equal amounts water and sugar boiled together. Submitted by: Maggie |
