BLACKBERRY CAKE 
2 c. sugar (1 white, 1 brown)
3 eggs
1 c. shortening
3 c. berries and juice, frozen or fresh
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. each cinnamon, allspice, and cloves

Heat berries, adding enough water to make 2 cups. Mix all ingredients. Bake in 2 layers.
