COLD OVEN POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
5 eggs
1 c. milk
3 c. cake flour

Cream butter, shortening, sugar and salt. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well. Add flour, milk and flavorings. Beat until well mixed. Pour into tube pan and place in COLD OVEN at 300 degrees for 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours.

GLAZE, if desired:
1 sm. can frozen orange juice
1 c. sugar

Heat until sugar dissolves well and cool. Pour over hot cake.
