APPLESAUCE CAKE 
3 1/2 c. flour
2 c. white sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. allspice
1 1/2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. applesauce
2 whole eggs
1 c. cooking oil
2 c. raisins (optional)
1 c. nuts, chopped (optional)

Soak raisins and nuts in water, while mixing cake. Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, salt, cloves, allspice and soda. Make a hole in middle of mixture and add applesauce, eggs, and oil. Mix well for about 5 minutes. Drain raisins and nuts that have been soaking in water. Dredge in flour. Fold into cake mixture. Pour into greased, lined tube pan and bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees and 15 minutes at 375 degrees. When done, cover tightly overnight.
