CHUCK WAGON BEANS | |
1/2 lb. bacon slices 3 lb. ground beef 3 c. finely chopped onions 1 c. finely chopped celery 2 beef bouillon cubes 2/3 c. boiling water 1 1/2 cloves garlic, minced 1 1/2 c. catsup 3 tbsp. mustard 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 2 (29 oz.) cans molasses-style baked beans Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cook bacon until crisp, set aside. Cook ground beef, onion and celery until meat is brown and onion tender. Dissolve bouillon cubes in 2/3 cup boiling water. Stir bouillon and remaining ingredients into meat mixture. Cover and bake in Dutch oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Crumble bacon and sprinkle over bean dish before serving. 12 servings, 1 cup each. |
