STRAWBERRY SHORT CAKE 
1/2 c. white sugar
4 tbsp. soft butter
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt

Cream sugar and butter. Add egg, milk and vanilla. Blend, then sift dry ingredients and add. Blend well, pour into a greased 9" pie pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Top with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Serve warm with cold milk.
