CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sweet milk
1 (1 lb.) can chocolate syrup
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Cream butter, sugar and Crisco. Add eggs, one at a time. Add chocolate syrup. Sift flour and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. Add to mixture with 1 cup of sweet milk. Place in cold oven and bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 40 minutes.

ICING:

1 stick butter
2 c. sugar
3 heaping tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. milk

Boil 1 to 3 minutes, beat as it cools.
