BEEF AND BLARNEY STEW 
1 1/2 lbs. stew beef
1 1/2 lbs. frozen mixed stew vegetables
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
3 tbsp. quick cooking tapioca
2 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. water

Cut beef into 1-inch cubes. Don't bother browning it; just toss into a Dutch oven or heavy covered casserole. Add frozen vegetables - no need to thaw. Then add rest of ingredients and bake 3 hours in 300 degree oven. Stir in just once, after an hour to make sure everything is blending. Serves 6.
