Delores' Oatmeal Cake - Recipe

DELORES' OATMEAL CAKE

1 c. oatmeal
1 1/2 c. boiling water

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs

The soaked oatmeal
1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Bake in 9 x 12 inch pan for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

FROSTING:

6 tbsp. butter, melted
1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. coconut
1/2 c. nuts

Spread over baked cake and broil until bubbly.
