LEMON BREAD (SWEET BREAD) 
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
Grated peel of 1 lemon
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1 3/4 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
Juice of 1 lemon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream shortening and 1 cup sugar. Add eggs, lemon peel, milk, baking powder, and flour; mix well. Spoon into greased loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour or until done.

Combine remaining sugar and lemon juice; mix well. Spoon evenly over bread while hot. Remove from pan to cool.
