BUTTERSCOTCH BARS 
6 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch pieces (1 c.)

In small mixer bowl, cream butter and the 1/2 cup brown sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in the 1 cup flour until crumbly. Pat mixture into ungreased 11 x 7 x 1 1/2-inch baking pan.

Bake in 325 degree oven for 10 minutes; remove from oven. In bowl beat eggs until thick and lemon-colored; beat in the 1 cup brown sugar and vanilla. Combine the remaining flour, baking powder, and salt; add to egg mixture. Stir in nuts.

Spread over baked crust; sprinkle with butterscotch pieces. Bake 30 minutes more; cool and cut into bars.
