JEANETTE'S CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1/2 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. cocoa
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Pour boiling water over butter, cocoa and oats. Mix well. Add brown sugar, eggs and vanilla and beat well. Sift dry ingredients together and add to batter, mixing lightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes in 9-inch pan or 45 minutes in 8-inch pan that has been greased. This is rich and fudgy.
