CHOCOLATE CHIP CAKE 
1 c. quick oatmeal
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 1/4 c. sugar, reserve 1/4 c.
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. butter, softened
2 lg. eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cocoa
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Put oatmeal in mixing bowl and pour boiling water over top. Let stand 10 for minutes. Stir in 1 cup of sugar, brown sugar, butter, eggs, flour, baking soda, salt and cocoa. Mix well. Stir in 6 ounces of the chocolate chips. Pour batter into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle other 6 ounces of chips and nuts on top. Sprinkle the 1/4 cup of sugar over top of cake.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
