CHOCOLATE OATMEAL CAKE 
1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 stick butter
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. cocoa
3/4 c. chocolate chips

TOPPING:

2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chocolate chips

Pour boiling water over the oatmeal and let stand 10 minutes. Add the sugars to the oatmeal mixture. Stir in vanilla and butter until the butter melts; beat eggs in the mixture. Add the dry ingredients and fold in the chocolate chips last. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Sprinkle top with more chocolate chips, about 1 cup, and chopped nuts. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
