APPLE WRAPS | |
4-6 cooking apples 1/3 cup white sugar 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 3/4 cup water 2 sheets of puff pastry (approximately a4 size) Thaw out pastry while preparing apple. Peel and chop apples to usual stewing size. Place apple, cinnamon and sugar into medium saucepan and cover with water. Cook on stove for approximately 10 minutes; take off the heat and strain excess juice into a bowl (for a tasty glaze). Cut each sheet of pastry into 4 squares. Place a large spoonful of apple onto each square. Take one corner of pastry and pinch it together with the diagonal corner. Repeat with opposite corners. Make sure pastry is pressed together firmly - puff pastry has a tendancey to pull apart while baking. Glaze with remaining apple juice. Cook for approximately 15 minutes on 360°F (180°C) or until golden. Great with ice cream or by itself. Submitted by: Karley |
