SWEDISH CHRISTMAS COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. white sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp. cream
2 c. flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg white
1/2 c. pecans, finely chopped
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, sugar, egg yolk, cream and vanilla. Add flour and baking powder. Form into small balls. Dip in unbeaten egg white and pecans. Make small indentations in center of cookie. Fill with jelly or red or green Maraschino cherries. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Handle carefully when removing as these cookies are quite fragile. Can also just make an indentation, then use a pastry tip with colored powdered sugar.
