OLD-FASHIONED POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
3 c. granulated sugar
1 c. Crisco
6 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. milk
2 tsp. lemon flavoring

Blend Crisco and butter. Add sugar and cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour and soda together at least 3 times. Add a little flour mixture at a time to eggs and shortening, alternating with milk until all is used up. Beat well after each addition. Beat for about 3 minutes before adding flavoring and then beat again. Bake in tube or bundt cake pan at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Be sure to grease and flour the pan.
