8 c. water
8 c. sugar
3 tbsp. pure vanilla extract
1 tbsp. green food coloring
1 tbsp. essence of peppermint also known as peppermint spirits
1 pt. 190 proof clear alcohol (150 proof will do)

Mix all ingredients in a 1 gallon glass jar. Secure lid tightly. Place in dark, cool place and allow to age for at least three weeks.
