TOMATO CHUTNEY | |
1/2 c. oil 1 (16 oz.) can of ready cut peeled tomatoes 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds 3 or 4 dry whole red pepper (optional) 1/4 tsp. crushed garlic 1/2 tsp. red pepper 1/2 tsp. salt In a pan heat the oil. When hot, add cumin seeds and whole red pepper for about 2 minutes until they turn black. Turn the stove off. After a couple of minutes, add the can of tomatoes, garlic, powdered red pepper and salt. Turn on the heat and cook on medium to high heat for about 20 minutes. Can be eaten with rice and curries. |
