BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES 
1/2 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts *

*If nuts are not desired, add one of the following: chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, white chocolate chips or toffee pieces. Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt butter over low heat; watch so it does not burn. Remove from heat. In a large bowl, combine the butter, sugar and eggs. Set aside.

In a small bowl, sift dry ingredients together. Add to the butter, sugar and eggs. Add vanilla and nuts or desired chips. Spread in a well-greased and floured 9 x 13-inch baking pan.

Bake 25 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE. Cut while warm.

Makes about 30 brownies.
