CREAM WAFERS 
1/3 c. softened butter
1/3 c. whipping cream
1 c. granulated sugar
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour

Thoroughly combine butter, cream and flour then chill. Turn out dough on floured surface and roll 1/8 inch thick. Cut with a 1 1/2 inch cookie cutter. Roll out only 1/3 of dough at a time (keep remaining dough chilled). Coat both sides of each cookie with the cup of granulated sugar and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Prick with a fork in an "x" shape. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes. Cool.

FILLING:

1/4 c. softened butter
3/4 c. sifted 10x sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
Food coloring

Mix together all ingredients. Tint the mixture to desired color with the food coloring. Spread wafer with filling and place another wafer on top like a sandwich.
