1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. raw chopped apples
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. warm coffee
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. walnut meats

Beat together sugar, egg, vanilla and shortening; add coffee and mix well. Sift together flour, soda, baking powder and cinnamon and add it to first mixture a little at a time, beating until both are well mixed.

Using a spoon, blend the chopped apples, raisins and walnuts into the mixture. Bake in a greased pan at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Frost with brown sugar frosting.
