UNCLE TOMPY'S SUGAR COOKIES | |
2 lbs. butter 6 c. sugar 8 lg. eggs 1 pt. heavy whipping cream 5 lb. flour 6 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. baking soda 6 heaping tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. salt Black walnuts (optional, but gives the cookies a great flavor) Soften butter in large bowl. Cream sugar. Beat and add eggs. Pour in heavy whipping cream. Add flour. Add vanilla, soda, baking powder, nutmeg, cream of tartar, salt and black walnuts. Mix until all flour disappears. Divide the dough into four equal parts. Roll each into a log and wrap in waxed paper. At this point the dough may be frozen and used at a future date. To bake just use as refrigerator cookies and slice them off. I dip the one side into sugar and place them on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until done. |
