NORWEGIAN KRINGLAR | |
1 c. flour 1/2 c. butter 1 tbsp. water Mix like pie crust. Pat on greased cookie sheet in 2 long strips, each 3 to 4 inches wide. PART TWO: 1 c. water 1/2 c. butter 1 c. flour 3 eggs 1/2 tsp. almond extract Put water and butter in saucepan, heat to boiling point and as you remove mixture from stove, add the flour and stir until smooth. Then add 1 egg at a time, beating until smooth after each addition. Add extract and spread lightly on dough from Part One. Bake in 375 degree oven for 45 minutes. When cool, frost with almond Icing. PART THREE - ALMOND ICING: 1 c. powdered sugar 1 tbsp. cream or milk 1 tbsp. butter 1/2 tsp. almond extract Blend above ingredients and spread on baked Kringlar. Ready to eat. |
