BUTTERY OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 lb. butter
1 c. sugar
3 c. oatmeal
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar. Mix in remaining ingredients. Roll in 3/4 inch ball and flatten with a fork. Bake approximately 16 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cooled.
