ORIGINAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. In a larger mixing bowl, beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add this to the flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 9 to 11 minutes until edges are golden brown.

Pan Cookies: Spread dough in greased 15 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 1" baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool completely. Cut into 35 (2") squares.
