1 box chocolate cake mix
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 egg
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chocolate chips or butterscotch chips (or mixed)
1/2 c. chopped black walnuts (opt.)

Mix softened cream cheese with egg and sugar; beat. Add vanilla and chips; set aside. Prepare cake according to directions. Put into cup cake pans. Place 1 teaspoon of cheese chip mixture on top of each cupcake. Add a sprinkle of nuts. Bake at 350 degrees according to package directions of cupcakes.
