BANANA NUT LOAF 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. mashed bananas (2)
3 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Grease a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Beat butter, sugar and egg in a large bowl until fluffy. Combine bananas and milk in a bowl. Sift flour, baking powder, and baking soda onto wax paper. Stir into sugar mixture alternately with banana-milk mixture. Stir in nuts.

Turn into prepared pan and bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 1 hour or until center springs back when lightly pressed with fingertip.
