ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
4 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour, measure and sift all dry ingredients 4 times. Add to butter and sugar alternately with milk. Add vanilla last. Bake in greased stem pan 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees or in 4 layers at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
