EDNA'S SWEDISH RYE BREAD 
Heat to lukewarm: 1 quart milk and 1 cup molasses. Add:

2 yeast cakes or 2 pkg. dry yeast dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water
3 tbsp. melted Crisco
1 tsp. anise seed
2 tsp. salt

Then add 3 heaping cups rye flour and enough all purpose white flour for easy handling. Knead and place into greased bowl and let rise in warm place 1 1/2 to 2 hours. (Cover bowl.)

Divide into loaf pans and let rise again. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes or until done.
