ITALIAN BREAD CRUMB STRING BEANS 
2 cans cut string beans, drained
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
1 cup Italian bread crumbs
2 cloves garlic, chopped finely
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup grated Pecorino Romano cheese
salt and pepper

In a large frying pan on medium heat start by adding onion, oil and garlic. Let simmer for a few minutes until soft, NOT BROWN. Next add string beans with salt and pepper to taste, add cheese and bread crumbs. Move and mix often with a wooden spoon until the breadcrumb brown slightly.

Serve on the side with just about any Italian meal or baked chicken, turkey etc. Goes quite well with Thanksgiving dinner. This recipe works great with fresh mushrooms replacing the string beans as well.
