WHIPPED CREAM FROSTING (NO
REFRIGERATION)
 
Comes out like Whipped frosting and needs no refrigeration. This very old recipe was my great grandma's. It is very good too!

2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
1/4 cup shortening (Crisco)
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook flour and milk over low heat, stirring until very thick. Set aside to cool (you can use it when a little warm but not hot - it cools fast).

In a bowl cream together butter, Crisco, sugar and vanilla. Add sugar gradually. Next add flour mixture and beat very well.

Note: Flour mixture takes about 10 minutes. Whipping and adding other ingredients takes about 15 minutes. Total: 25 minutes.
